Spell-casting is about Vocality

A tool you can use today

In previous essays, I’ve compared intentional storytelling with casting spells. I talk of wizards and their ways and break down the process into these steps:

• Be where you are. Authentic presence is captivating.

• See things as they are rather as you think they should be. People love to be seen and heard, and without judgement.

• Believe what you are saying. Feel it in your heart. Know it is true.

• Taste your words. Feel the vibration of your voice in your throat. It brings you into contact with the true power of sound.

In the following essay, I’d like to focus on vocality and a particular use of the voice that can change both the storyteller and the listener.

Change fundamentally. Change everything.

Here is a list I received through channeling. It is of twelve transformative “substances” that we experience all the time but don’t realize are powerful agents of change. When viewed through the fifth dimension, one can see them at work—changing the form, quality and energy of everyone in proximity. What else is a spell but something that can bring about that kind of fundamental change.

And it isn’t ultimately that esoteric when you stop to think about it. Look at the list below and recall moments when you felt gratitude or desire or attunement. Those qualities truly can change everything.

Step One: Choose one of the qualities in the table above. Immerse yourself in the sensation of Gratitude or Play or Desire or whichever you choose.

Step Two: Notice the effect on your body and energy. Notice what has transformed. What emotion are you feeling now? What images are coming to mind? What is your motivation? Take a full inventory.

Step Three: Play with a vocal expression of that feeling. Make sounds. Which ones seem in alignment with the sensations brought by Gratitude or Play or Desire or whichever you choose?

Step Four: Take the vocal tone and use it with words and sentences. Say things using the same vocal quality. Speak with the essence of Gratitude or Play or Desire or whichever you choose. Don’t worry about the content of what you are saying—it doesn’t matter.

Now you can speak with a particular transformative power. If you want the listener to feel like you did when you inhabited Gratitude, then you can capture and speak with its essence and transformative power. You can change them. Fundamentally.

Once you practice one quality for a while, try another. And another. And with enough practice you can have a bag of different spells, vocal qualities that change everything for everyone who can hear you.

You have literally become a wizard casting spells.
