This was just what I needed to hear tonight just before midnight on Easter Eve. The concept of roots, trunk, branches, forest, entangling and all present at the moment resonates with me. I am behind reading Substack because Roy had a mild stroke on March 11 and was discharged from the hospital on March 17. Jenna and Chloe came to visit March 22-24 and Jason and Susie will be coming for the eclipse 4/6-4/9. Roy at 91 1/2 is making a miraculous recovery and we are all exceedingly grateful. I will sleep on this and then listen again tomorrow. Thank you, Dave.
Thank you for revisiting this on Easter eve! We had quite an eventful evening in the veterinary ER with one of our dogs, and this morning we are all very tired and feeling the weight of what is ahead. But your note reminds me that this is all part of the tree. What a life! All of it remarkable highs and lows. Life and death. It is a miracle.

This quote came into my inbox from one of my favorite persons:
— WORD FOR THE DAY —
If grief can be a doorway to love, then let us all weep for the world we are breaking apart so we can love it back to wholeness again.
ROBIN WALL KIMMERER
I am so sorry to hear about your dog’s serious illness and the possible outcome of great loss. It is heartbreaking.
Did you ever watch the Loki miniseries that Marvel produced? That’s my thought when listening to this right now.
Not much but my sons both have and then explained the narrative structure - YES!
